feat(whatsapp): own groups personally, follow WhatsApp, push changes - #8725
Groups belonged to a team and were refused or blocked after two minutes without a roster refresh, pages polled for changes, and traces stopped at every Postgres NOTIFY. Wolf's decisions: each adopted group is its adopter's own entity, the roster is refreshed on demand and on WhatsApp's own events, changes are pushed, and channels can share a group by mentioning it.
What
Schema: personal groups, whatsapp_send.traceparent and the channel view rule are in layer 4's migration.
crates/whatsapp_linked: no freshness window (adoption and can-send read the stored roster; WhatsApp's rejection is the final check). Listing a group or the group list asks the observing accounts for a refresh, at most once per 30 s. Display names follow WhatsApp. Retried sends with the same intent key return the stored send before any other check.
Every write a page shows signals whatsapp_changed in its transaction, only on real roster changes. DSS LISTENs, coalesces bursts and pushes a gateway message to the owner and viewers.
NOTIFY payloads are JSON {id, traceparent}; the session service and DSS continue the sender's trace (whatsapp.signal.receive, whatsapp.send.dispatch, whatsapp.changed.push).
Session service: live JoinedGroup/GroupInfo update one roster row; leaving or removal marks it left.
crates/channels, messages, soup_realtime: whatsapp_group is a message reference and channel share item (view grant through entity_access).
Regenerated storage client, OpenAPI, SDK and code-mode catalog.
whatsapp_e2e: renames and removals reach Macro live; a shared viewer observes through their own refresh.
Audit fixes
Audit security fix in this layer: only a chat's owner shares it by mentioning it in a channel.
Audit fixes tagged for a lower layer that land here, because they change code this layer introduces:
745518e26f feat(auth): record which credential authenticated each user (tagged layer 3)
95e0bd3fa5 fix(whatsapp): let only the owner's session change a chat's sharing (tagged layer 4)
4959d09e4e perf(whatsapp): store a roster batch in a few statements (tagged layer 4)
WhatsApp linked devices, one layer per PR. Merge bottom-up; each PR is based on the one below it, so its diff is only its own layer. Layers 1-9 are wolf/whatsmeow-rs as of the split; layers 10-16 are the later work on that branch, regrouped by topic. The audit fixes are folded into the layers that own the code they fix. The schema is three migrations in its final shape: layer 4's 20261027061310_whatsapp_linked and 20261027061311_validate_entity_whatsapp_group_type, and layer 5's 20261027062649_whatsapp_store; no later layer adds a migration.

Priority: Normal
Merge Risk: Moderate · up to 9cef0
A slow WhatsApp group lookup can freeze sending and other work for an account for a couple of minutes. Fix that before merging. The missing live-update signal on one send path and the misleading share refusal message are small. The leftover Cargo.lock.rej file should be removed.

Give WhatsappGroup an owner-only refusal message.
grant_level returns a View grant for WhatsAppGroup only when the sharer is the owner. A viewer with View, Comment, or Edit access gets NotPermitted. In that case, not_permitted falls through to the generic arm and returns "you need access to this item before it can be shared with the channel". That viewer already has access, so the agent passes on a wrong reason. The tool description also does not say that only the owner can share a WhatsApp group.
Proposed fix
Self::AgentSession => "you can only share an agent session you own",Self::WhatsappGroup => "only the owner of a WhatsApp group can share it with a channel",
_ => "you need access to this item before it can be shared with the channel",

Signal the group change on the "target vanished" acceptance path too.
record_send_outcome sends notify_change at Line 742 so open pages show the send outcome. One path skips it. When an accepted mutation's target is gone, the code at Line 676 updates the send to accepted and returns tx.commit() early. No whatsapp_changed signal goes out. Open pages then keep the old delivery state until the next refetch. The architecture doc says send outcomes signal whatsapp_changed.

Keep group reads from blocking the account runner.
When a group-change event has no metadata, group_changed awaits session.group inside Running::serve. The underlying IQ request can wait 75 seconds for a response. During that wait, the runner cannot process sends, refresh signals, or release requests. Repeated events can extend the delay. Move or coalesce these reads outside the runner’s control loop, with a bounded wait and cancellation. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
