8. Settings and Privacy
Image MetaHub settings are organized by task.
The main sections are:
- Library
- Viewer
- Integrations
- Appearance
- Privacy
- Shortcuts
Changes are saved automatically. Some changes may only fully apply after restarting the app.
Library settings control indexing and folder behavior.
Common areas include:
- Recursive subfolder scanning
- Auto-watch
- Startup verification
- Cache behavior
- Indexing behavior
- Large library performance preferences
Startup verification controls how Image MetaHub reopens saved libraries.
Modes may include:
- Open from cache quickly
- Reconcile folders in the background
- Strictly verify folders before startup completes
For very large libraries, cache-first or background reconciliation modes are usually faster.
Viewer settings control the image viewing experience.
This can include:
- Filename display
- Full path display
- Viewer behavior
- Preview/sidebar behavior
- Tag suggestion display
- Recent tag chips
- Generate action visibility
Integrations settings control connections to local generators.
Common settings include:
- Automatic1111 server URL
- ComfyUI server URL
- Connection testing
- Generator launch command
- Launch working directory
The header generator button can use the saved launch command to start or reopen the detected generator.
Appearance settings control the visual style of the app.
This can include theme and display preferences.
Image MetaHub is local-first.
Your files, metadata cache, tags, ratings, collections, and shadow metadata stay on your machine.
Privacy settings can include content filtering and safe-mode behavior.
Safe Mode helps hide or blur sensitive content based on configured settings and tags.
Use Safe Mode when browsing mixed libraries or when screen-sharing.
Shortcut settings allow customizing keyboard-driven workflows.
This is useful for fast curation, tagging, viewer navigation, and repeated review tasks.
Pro license validation is designed to work offline.
The app stores license/trial state locally and does not require a constant online account session.
