• It was before: it was opening Ghostty right away and then asking for permission, but now it asks permission, then opens Croft, and this delay is very long.

• Linux + Ghostty: Ghostty's default Ctrl+Shift binds swallow the Command Palette, Explorer, Search and Markdown preview chords, though LINUX.md says they work "with zero setup"

• PORTS socket poll: ss runs on every poll because lsof's "no listeners" exit is read as "lsof failed", and with lsof < 4.95 and a raised fd limit each lsof closes ~1M descriptors

• .ico files (favicons) open as a hex dump instead of the image, though the bundled image crate decodes ICO — .tiff is the same

• Archive browser doesn't open .tar.xz, .tar.bz2 or .tar.zst: source releases and Linux packages open as a hex dump, though croft already bundles an xz decoder

• Vue, Svelte, PHP, Kotlin, Swift, Dart, Elixir, Terraform and GraphQL files still open as Plain Text, and there is still no way to add a grammar

• Side-by-side Markdown preview never shows what you type, and every save turns it back into source

  vitali87/croft#1605 · Filter by author vitali87 opened on Oct 9, 2026

• Diff views are read-only: you can't fix a line while reviewing your changes, and typing into the working-tree side is silently dropped

• Media view covers only MP3/WAV/FLAC/MP4/MOV: .mkv, .webm, .ogg and .opus open as a hex dump, and MP4 shows its container brand instead of the codecs

• A tag made in Source Control can't be published: no Push Tags, Push says "Everything up-to-date", tags are lightweight only, and Delete Tag never reaches the remote

• No quick way to select a whole line: Ctrl+L does nothing, a triple-click drops the selection, and clicking a line number only moves the caret

  enhancement

• Inline blame is a dead end: hovering or clicking it shows nothing, so you can't see the full commit or open its changes from the line

• Settings only lists on/off toggles: language, files and search exclusions, terminal scrollback, save before debug and other config.json settings can't be found or changed there

• No setting for tab size, spaces vs tabs, trim trailing whitespace or final newline: .vscode/settings.json and import-vscode drop them, so only a per-project .editorconfig can set them

• Parameter hints show one row only: a long signature is cut before the parameter you are typing, and overloads can't be seen (the "1/6" counter is painted over)

  vitali87/croft#1531 · Filter by author vitali87 opened on Oct 8, 2026

• Completion list ignores the server's ranking: deprecated methods come first, the best match sits 7th, and typing part of a name (start) hides trim_start

  vitali87/croft#1528 · Filter by author vitali87 opened on Oct 8, 2026

• Diagnostics lose their related locations ("'foo' is declared here", "first borrow occurs here"): croft declares relatedInformation support but never shows it

  enhancement

• No keyboard way to show hover (type, docs, diagnostic message at the caret); VS Code's Ctrl+K Ctrl+I toggles Broadcast Input instead

  enhancement

• No way to open a file or folder outside the workspace from inside croft: Quick Open says "No matches" for an absolute path, and there is no Open File, Open Folder or Open Recent

  enhancement

• Explorer has no compact folders: Java/Kotlin/Go module trees take a click and an indent level per single-child folder (src/main/java/com/acme is 5 rows deep)
