12000XP Consumption and Generator Charge SOC / Voltage Controls #48

Description

@twistedroutes

Love this whole thing btw. I am using a slight variation on you dashboards, so thatnks for those also. Would be great to have the forecast in there (I use "solar production forcast").

EG4 12000XP seems to be a little weird about it's consumption power. EPS power is included in overall consumption, but not in the "now":

I'd like to be able to capture the EPS power (246 W) in this instance... will probably still need a calculating sensor to add EPS to Consumption (I believe the Consumption is >0 when power is not coming from batteries, i.e. gen or grid (same things for me as I am 100% off-grid)).

From a controls perspective, the main thing I change is the Generator Start SOC/Voltage and the Generator Stop SOC/Voltage and the Generator Charge Type. I use this to force start the generator and force stop it when I predict I will have good solar coming (no point charging to 100% if I can get by with 30% and then use the sun the next day!)

    Sensors are missing from SENSOR_TYPES. As with pylxpweb I can't contribute even from my fork so here's the main part (also a strings and a translation)

    Partial follow-up on the SOC / Voltage control side of this — shipping in v3.4.0-beta.1.

    The integration now lets you choose how the inverter governs battery charge/discharge limits — State-of-Charge (closed-loop) or Voltage (open-loop) — mirroring the inverter's own register-179 regime, in cloud, local, and hybrid:

    • Battery Charge Control / Battery Discharge Control selects (SOC / Voltage) — live and automatable.
    • Voltage-limit controls (the open-loop counterparts of the existing SOC limits): System Charge Voltage Limit, On-Grid Cut-Off Voltage, Off-Grid Cut-Off Voltage, AC Charge Start/End Voltage.
    • Configure → Battery Charge/Discharge Control Mode picks which set is shown (defaults to SOC; the other set is created but disabled to reduce clutter).

    Live-validated against a real FlexBOSS/18kPV parallel group across all three connection modes, with the writes confirmed back through an independent cloud register read.

    Not yet included: the Generator Start/Stop SOC/Voltage thresholds and Generator Charge Type you specifically called out (those are separate generator registers). If you'd like those, I'll track them as a dedicated follow-up — say the word and I'll open one.

    To try the beta: HACS → EG4 Web Monitor → ⋮ → Redownload → enable Show beta versions → pick 3.4.0-beta.1, then restart HA. After install, set your control mode under the integration's Configure. Feedback welcome 🙏

    just checking back in :-)

    Yes, can we please track the Generator Start/Stop SOC/Voltage thresholds?

    As this is an off-grid generator, many of it's users will not have any grid connection at all and no AC charge - well at least that's me. Solar and generator only, so I rely on those generator settings for tuning the ammount of generator charge (if charge is low but will have good sun in forecast a few hours later, I won't charge to 100%, instead perhaps 60%)
