Engineering leader and advisor based in Amsterdam. I work at the edge of research and product, close enough to the code to make informed decisions and close enough to a P&L to be accountable for them.
I'm Technical Program Manager for openJII, the open-source platform for distributed photosynthesis research at the Jan IngenHousz Institute. I own the technical vision and roadmap, run the in-house and external development teams, and connect the platform into JII's wider scientific portfolio. The platform anchors a sensor-agnostic data ingestion framework, a Databricks lakehouse, and the AWS infrastructure that lets research groups collaborate on real-time field measurements at scale.
- INFO (Amsterdam): Tech Lead and Head of Engineering. 35-person org, P&L, presales and delivery. Built a Databricks-centred data-platform practice that grew into a €1.5M revenue line and contributed to €4M+ in closed enterprise deals.
- Dephion: Software Engineering Team Lead at a 150-person health-tech startup. AKS microservices, weekly releases.
- Earlier: independent full-stack engineer building Meet Croatia, scaling SPICA, and delivering client work across mobility, hospitality, education, and B2B SaaS.
Finishing an MBA in AI, Data & Analytics at the University of Amsterdam, with a thesis on learned representations of photosynthesis time-series.
I take a small number of advisory engagements each year (board advisor, retained advisory, occasional technical due diligence) focused on engineering leadership, AI and data strategy, lakehouse architecture (Databricks/Spark/Delta), and turning research-grade systems into commercial product.
