When local checks pass but staging or another required target has not been verified, the verification report currently ends at PR readiness. Add a separate target result, environment/version when known, evidence, and next permitted check or access dependency. Executed target checks report VERIFIED or FAILED; missing target checks remain NOT PERFORMED. Target access remains subject to authorization.

Closes #3679.

The guidance and output fields are synchronized across the canonical skill and the English Codex, Kiro, and generated Pi copies. Only registryDigest changes in the trigger manifest; trigger phrases and trigger digest are unchanged.

Validation: Markdownlint and diff checks pass; registry tests: 18 passed, one Windows file-symlink privilege skip. The official context-profile validator passes all 34 projections across 311 skills. The Pi generation regression passes (one test), and the exact rebuild plus git-diff gate produces no generated drift. A cross-surface check confirms matching target guidance and result enums in all four English copies. Reviewed local-only, unavailable-target, successful-target, and failed-target scenarios.

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Clarified how verification reports distinguish local checks from acceptance in a target environment.
    • For deployment or target-verification tasks, reports include the environment, installed version when known, supporting evidence, and the next permitted check or access dependency.
    • Reports show VERIFIED or FAILED for executed target checks and clarify that local checks, review, merge, or release do not establish target acceptance.
    • Reports for local-only tasks mark target acceptance as not applicable.
    • Clarified that production access and external changes require authorization.

The verification-loop guidance distinguishes target-environment acceptance from local verification. It defines target evidence and next-step reporting, updates report formats in four skill copies, and changes the context-pack registry digest.

The guidance separates target acceptance from local checks, specifies the environment, installed version when known, evidence, and next permitted step to report, and requires authorization for production access or external changes. The report formats add target status and next-step fields. The registry digest changed.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

Issue #3679 requires separate target acceptance reporting when deployment or target verification is required. The whole-PR diff adds a Target Acceptance section to the canonical skill and the .agents, .kiro, and Pi copies. It requires environment/version when known, evidence, and the next permitted check or access dependency. It reports VERIFIED or FAILED for executed checks and NOT PERFORMED or NOT APPLICABLE when appropriate. It keeps Overall PR readiness separate and requires authorization for production access or external changes. The example covers local success with unavailable staging access. These changes satisfy the issue coding requirements.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The four changed skill files contain the same target-acceptance guidance and output fields across the canonical, Codex, Kiro, and Pi surfaces. This synchronization directly supports issue #3679. The manifest change updates only registryDigest, which supports the synchronized skill content. The diff shows no unrelated change.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

No functions found in the changed files to evaluate docstring coverage. Skipping docstring coverage check. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 0 functions across 0 files. (2 skipped: 2 unsupported.)

⚠️ Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.

Define PR readiness independently from target acceptance.

When local checks pass but target access is unavailable, keep Overall: READY for PR readiness and set Target: NOT PERFORMED. The current format adds both fields but does not state their relationship, so an agent can incorrectly report Overall: NOT READY.

Add based on local checks only to the Overall field or equivalent guidance. This follows the PR objective to preserve local readiness when target acceptance is unverified.

passing local checks, and clarify that an executed target check provides
target-acceptance evidence: report VERIFIED on success and FAILED on failure.
