Najma099/README.md

Hey, I'm Najma 👋

Welcome to my GitHub.

A bit about me

  • Backend engineer who gets obsessed with how systems work under real load
  • I gravitate toward distributed systems, real-time architectures, and APIs built to last
  • I build things to understand them. The best way to learn a system is to break it yourself first
  • Currently studying Data Science & AI at IIT Guwahati

Tech I work with

  • Languages: TypeScript, Python
  • Backend: Node.js, Express.js
  • Frontend: React, Next.js
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis
  • Tools: Docker, Prisma, GitHub Actions, Vitest
  • Concepts: WebSockets, CRDTs, JWT, REST, RBAC, OpenAPI

Projects I'm proud of

Perps (Perpetuals Trading Engine)

  • Redis Streams, single-threaded order matching, live Binance mark prices, auto liquidation
  • Built to understand how trading systems actually work at a low level

Zotion (Real-Time Collaborative Workspace)

  • Yjs CRDTs, raw WebSockets, Redis batching writes to PostgreSQL, multi-tenant with JWT auth
  • The conflict resolution problem is what pulled me in. CRDTs are genuinely elegant

FinLab (Finance Tracker API)

  • RBAC, multi-session JWT, Dockerized integration tests, Swagger docs, CI/CD
  • Built to feel production-ready end to end. The kind of API you'd actually want to maintain

Suggestrix (Autocomplete and Autocorrect)

  • Hand-rolled Trie + Levenshtein distance via dynamic programming, zero libraries
  • What's your favourite algorithm? Mine might be this one after building it from scratch

Hackathons

  • I actively participate in hackathons. 48 hours of building under pressure teaches you things no tutorial ever will
  • Competed in 4+ including Meta Hacker Cup, Smart India Hackathon, and She Builds
  • Each one sharpened my instinct for scoping fast, shipping under constraints, and knowing what actually matters

I'm particularly drawn to problems where correctness and scale have to coexist.
