Gcore offers connectivity services for colocation customers who need internet access or private networking between sites. Each service is billed separately from rack space and power.

## IP Transit

IP Transit provides access to the global internet through a high-capacity connection between the customer network and the Gcore backbone. Traffic can reach any destination worldwide using Gcore's IP transit and peering links.

IP Transit requires the customer to have their own Autonomous System Number (ASN) and network equipment such as a router.

Available port speeds: 1G, 10G, 40G, 100G, 400G. Billing is based on a committed data rate (minimum 10% of port capacity), with bursts measured using the 95th percentile method. Port usage is charged as a one-time fee, with the committed bandwidth billed monthly.

## IP Access

IP Access provides internet connectivity for customers who do not have their own ASN. Gcore assigns the IP addresses and handles routing on the customer's behalf.

It's suited for customers with a single server or a small deployment who need straightforward internet access without managing their own network equipment or BGP configuration. IP Access is commonly ordered together with colocation.

colocation/connectivity.mdx#L21

Available port speeds and billing follow the same model as IP Transit.

## Cross-connects

A cross-connect is a dedicated physical cable connection between two parties within the same data center — for example, between customer equipment and a carrier, an internet exchange, or another tenant.

Cross-connects are provisioned using fiber or copper and billed as a one-time installation fee plus a monthly recurring charge for the active connection.

## Leased lines

A leased line is a dedicated, private point-to-point connection between two locations. It provides guaranteed bandwidth and consistent performance, unlike shared internet connections.

Leased lines are billed monthly based on bandwidth, distance, and service type, with an optional installation fee.

## Order connectivity services

Contact the [sales team](https://gcore.com/contact-sales) with the following details to request any connectivity service:

- Location (data center)
- Required bandwidth and port speed
- Service type (IP Transit, IP Access, cross-connect, or leased line)
- Number of links (two links to separate routers are recommended for redundancy)
- For IP Transit: ASN and BGP details

Gcore can source and deliver hardware directly to a colocation data center on the customer's behalf. This covers servers, network devices, and smaller components such as transceivers, cables, and optics. Customers retain full ownership of all purchased hardware.

The hardware resale service can include:

- Procurement of new or used hardware from major vendors
- Global logistics and delivery to the data center
- On-site installation coordinated with [Smart Hands](/colocation/smart-hands)
- Small parts and components that Gcore typically keeps in stock

## Rack options

Three configurations are available. Rack unit and full rack options can be ordered directly. Private cages are available on request for large enterprise deployments.

| Option | Space | Committed power |
|--------|-------|-----------------|
| Rack unit | 1U to 10U in a shared rack | 500 W per 1U |
| Full rack | 1 dedicated rack | 5 kW |
| Private cage | Multiple racks in a custom enclosed space | Custom |

Customers with rack units in a shared rack do not have direct physical access to their equipment. Gcore staff or authorized contractors perform all hardware operations on their behalf. Customers with full racks or private cages may arrange physical access to their equipment.

For current pricing on rack unit and full rack options, see [gcore.com/colocation](https://gcore.com/colocation). Private cage pricing is determined per deployment.

## Included services

Every plan includes the following services regardless of rack type or location.

### Power and cooling

Each rack includes redundant power at the committed capacity and active cooling managed by the data center facility. Customers who exceed their committed power allocation are charged an overcommit fee.

### Network connectivity

Colocated equipment connects directly to Gcore's global low-latency network, built for content delivery and high-performance applications. High-bandwidth internet access is part of the plan at every location. Additional connectivity services — IP Transit, IP Access, Cross-Connects, and Leased Lines — are available as [separate add-ons](/colocation/connectivity).

### On-site technical support

Technical staff are on-site 24/7 to handle remote hands, hardware troubleshooting, racking and stacking, and emergency response. The [Smart Hands](/colocation/smart-hands) service is available as a paid add-on for more complex work: hardware installation, component replacement, diagnostics, and cable management.

## Data center tiers

Gcore colocates only in the same Tier 3 and Tier 4 facilities used for its own mission-critical infrastructure. Both tiers are certified under the Uptime Institute standard.

| Tier | Uptime | Redundancy model |
|------|--------|-----------------|
| Tier 3 | 99.982% | N+1 |

Tier 3 facilities provide concurrent maintainability, meaning hardware can be serviced without taking the system offline. Tier 4 adds full fault tolerance, meaning any single component failure does not interrupt operations.

Smart Hands is an on-site technical support service for Gcore Colocation customers. Data center engineers perform physical tasks directly on customer hardware: installing or removing equipment, replacing components, cabling, and any other hands-on work that requires physical access inside the facility.

## Use cases

Smart Hands applies when customer hardware is housed in a Gcore colocation facility and on-site intervention is needed. Two common scenarios:

- A hardware failure occurs but the customer's own team cannot travel to the data center to resolve it.
- Equipment installation, reconfiguration, or an urgent hardware task needs to be completed on-site.

## Priority tiers

Two priority levels are available, each with a different response commitment and billing rate.

| Priority | Scope | Response commitment |
|----------|-------|-------------------|
| Standard | Non-urgent work during business hours | Best effort during business hours |
| High | Urgent or out-of-hours work | Engineer starts next business day |

## Billing

Smart Hands time is billed per hour. Time spent is rounded up to the nearest 15 minutes, and standard and high-priority work are billed at different rates.

As an example: two tasks at the same location taking 5 and 30 minutes produce a combined 35 minutes, which rounds up to 45 minutes for billing. Rates vary by location.

Contact the [sales team](https://gcore.com/contact-sales) for current pricing at a specific facility.

## Smart Hands requests

Submit a request through [Gcore Support](mailto:support@gcore.com) and specify the priority level along with a description of the work needed. If no priority is specified, support assigns one based on the nature and urgency of the request.
