Stops working on Ubuntu 18.04

I just updated my OS to Ubuntu 18.04 from 16.04 and now hccd.jar will no longer execute.
I get no error message on the screen, but I get a lot of errors and garbage when I use the
command line. I saved this output to

Reinstalling openjdk-8-jdk did not help.

It looks like you ran ./Hccd.jar, which would run it as an ELF file, not a JAR. Try java -jar Hccd.jar. (If I'm wrong abotu this, I apologize)
