Use something else for tracking games

Twitch is pushing full on surveillance state totalitarianism by requiring a @gmail.com only email (no other domain) and non-voip phone number to be able to use a developer account, like most big tech US-based services. This way everything you do on their website can be tracked and tied back to you/your phone and monitored by the state. This is a massive issue for privacy and digital ownership, something I think a lot of people self hosting care about.

A much better alternative would be https://thegamesdb.net/ which provides an API for this sort of thing without the surveillance.

I didn't realise we had other options for games databases, the on you linked could be worth integrating. The more people using the alternstives, the better they'll get.

That being said, there may be a long wait. I'm currently working on some other stuff, then getting books support merged. I might look into this afterwards.
