Virtual Stream Deck support

[joshmedeski]

Hey @nekename, thanks for all your work on this project.

Could we add virtual stream deck support to OpenDeck? I enjoy using that feature on the official Stream Deck app when I'm not connected to my desk setup on the go.

Not sure if this has been explored yet. I might be willing to contribute if there's interest.

I mean Technically, anyone can create one via Device Plugins. Otherwise, whats a bit similar is Tacto. (Tacto.live)
Its from the Author of OpenDeck itself.

Yup, Tacto (https://tacto.live) is the recommended solution here.

Hopefully they'll be able to make something in the future. I tried the tacto alternative and found it a bit lackluster :/

Ah my bad! Meant the creator(s) of this😅 Guess the overlay feature of the virtual stream deck on windows seemed a bit better imo, instead of having a webpage in fullsize on my touch-monitor.

I might just dish out for a physical stream deck and give this project a try again tho.

Depending on your Browser an d your DE you can pull the tab out, set it on always foreground and you have exactly what you described. Nobody forces fullscreen with tacto.

Don't you need a physical Stream Deck to use the virtual one? Or do you just mean from what you know of the product and not from experience

No from experience. I've got the corsair xeneon edge and use the virtual stream deck as kind of an overlay with buttons over my main screen.

I don't have a physical stream deck yet, so can't say anything about how that works.

Yeah I know. And that works, but I was looking for more of an overlay. Like the way you can use the virtual stream deck on Windows. That way I don't have to use for example the entire left side of my xeneon for a pop out browser.

Again, I might just buy a physical stream deck to get around this. All i'm saying is that it'd be cool to get a feature more akin to the virtual deck you can get on your windows (or mac?)

corsair xeneon edge

Ah, OK - that's cause it's Corsair, though, which owns Elgato.

Tacto works great on the Xeneon Edge... here's an image from the Discord
