• Upgrade or replace the dependency path so the lockfile no longer resolves
  unmaintained proc-macro-error 1.0.4.
• Remove the temporary RUSTSEC-2024-0370 audit suppression from Makefile.
• Run make audit and the normal commit gates successfully.
