Add ability to add more than one folder per library #2480

I have my comic libraries within programs such as Komga organized by the main two comic publisher and then a single library for Image, Vertigo, etc. So I have a library just for DC, then for Marvel, and for "Others" (Image, Dark Horse, etc). To be able to have that others library in Komga, I need to make sure that all of the comics from those publishers are under one folder, currently called "Image-Vertigo-Dark Horse". I would really much prefer keeping those publishers separate in my actual file system, because this is how many downloaders are set, and makes more sense for my brain when directly managing files. This is a pretty normal way of setting up libraries on other programs. Plex of course does this but so does Kavita and Grimmory. Would be great if Komga could too. |

I don't follow. Currently my folders are like this: container path for /comics: /mnt/user/data/media/comics/ Folder organized like this: /comics If I were to add all of /comics, then I am not able to have separate libraries for DC and Marvel. I want my libraries to be:
In the post you referenced, it seems that you are saying to make my folder structure something like this? /comics Currently they are pretty much already like that, but its not a very elegant solution. |

Hi, I have the same setup as you - Marvel, DC and Others. Others has an arrow beside it, so it expands like a dropdown. Under the expanded menu I have Image, Valiant, etc. I am not home at the moment but I am pretty sure all those publishers under Others are in their own proper folder. I can double-check tonight how I did that and get back to you. |

Oh that would be very cool. When you mean arrows and dropdown, are you talking about in Komga or just how it works in your file structure? |

In Komga side menu. I am pretty sure it works that way but I need to confirm... and now I am doubting myself lol I will let you know in a few hours. |

Ok I wasn't crazy but it might not be exactly what you are looking for (for me it says More instead of Other): To get that working, click on the three dots just beside Libraries, select Reorder, and make sure Marvel and DC are pinned but keep the rest unpinned. Like this: 
The rest will appear under the "Other" menu. Images, IDW, Malibu and Other are separate folder/Libraries for me. Not sure if that's what you wanted though... |

Wow, in some ways this is actually better than what I had imagined. I can create a new volume path to a higher level folder that contains all the non-DC and Marvel publishers, then create libraries for each of those publishers, and probably another "other" library like you have of all the various ones. That way the top level you can still see everything at once but then also select by publisher. I think this is a great workaround. Thank you! |
