Feature Request: Add Per-Library Automatic ENDED Status for Series

Description

Komga currently lacks a way to bulk-set the "ENDED" status for series via the web UI. This feature would allow users to configure per-library rules to automatically mark new/added series as "ENDED" or other status by default.

Proposed Solution

• Add a new library setting: "Auto-mark new series as ENDED[or other status]" (toggle on/off).
• When enabled for a library:
  • Any series added to that library (via scan or import) is automatically set to status: ENDED.
  • Existing series remain unchanged unless re-scanned with the option enabled.
• No global override needed; setting is library-specific.

Use Case

Users managing manga/comic libraries often deal with ongoing titles. Manual per-series toggling is tedious for large libraries.

Alternatives Considered

• Bulk edit in UI: Not scalable for auto-adds.
• Metadata provider override: Not all sources provide reliable status.

I don't quite understand why you would need the feature, can you clarify on the use case ? The provide one does not explain anything on how the feature would address the use case.

this is not workable, at every scan all series are scanned.

I can see the utility for this option as I put my ended series in a separated collection.
For now, I filter my collection with “ongoing”, select all series and bulk edit then to “Ended”.
An option to automatically set the status to “Ended” instead of “Ongoing” would be a good QoL for my use. But I also think it's a pretty niche case.
And I too, don't see the utility of the “Existing series remain unchanged unless re-scanned with the option enabled”
