How do you implement server-side selectize?

Hello,

I am a new citr and zotero user. I have started accessing my entire zotero library when inserting a citation and I get the following warning:

"Warning: The select input "selected_key" contains a large number of options; consider using server-side selectize for massively improved performance. See the Details section of the ?selectizeInput help topic."

I have followed the suggested instructions and looked at various related webpages, but it remains unclear how I would implement server-side selectize. Do you know of any advice or template suggestions for how to make this work? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Also came here to ask this. Thanks for a terrific plugin—the slow loading is the only issue I see.
