When a user adds a new forum topic or posts an answer within the forum, he/she needs to subscribe to it after submitting in order to receive notifications about it.
This is not user-friendly at all. You have to make your users explicitly aware of this fact and they will still forget to subscribe...
It should be like in Facebook, that once you post a new topic or post an answer, you receive automatically notifications when there are new answers to it.
