What is the problem or limitation you are having?

As of about two weeks ago, the Shoelace team announced that development of Shoelace is stopping in favour of WebAwesome. They may continue to make bug fix and maintenance releases.

Describe the solution you'd like

For Toga it may make sense to consider migrating away from Shoelace, either to WebAwesome or some other web framework that is more actively supported.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Shoelace will still be there, and if there is sufficient community support it will continue to get critical updates. However it is unlikely to stay current with new browser features in the long-run
