pycdio doesn't distribute wheels to PyPI, and installation from the source distribution requires the end user to install a set of build-time dependencies (swig, etc.)
ARver only needs a tiny fraction of pycdio features. It should be possible to write a minimal set of required libcdio bindings as another C extension.
