Conserve XMP data

I have a need to sort through photos and I most often do this through the use of tags and keywords in XMP data. Although the app currently has exif features it doesn't have XMP features.

To save space before uploading to the cloud I'll often batch compress photos before uploading but I'll have tagged them in their XMP data beforehand and all of the tags and such stored in XMP doesn't get transferred to the compressed photos.

Might a "conserve XMP data" feature be implemented so that this data can be kept through actions like compression or cropping?

Actually after checking I'm not confident I'm storing things like tags and titles in XMP as opposed to some other type of metadata. I'll include the exported metadata output from exiftools to an example image here.
