<problem_statement>Across Nigeria and in almost every country, citizens constantly encounter broken infrastructure; potholes, burst pipes, faulty streetlights, blocked drains, and fallen power poles.
Reporting these issues is difficult and inconsistent. There’s no centralized channel for submitting complaints or tracking repairs.
Residents rely on social media posts, WhatsApp groups, or word-of-mouth to get government attention, leading to duplicated reports, no accountability, and slow response times.
As a result, problems linger, causing accidents, flooding, property damage, and unnecessary public frustration.</problem_statement>

<solution_proposal>
How do you envision the ideal solution to this problem?

Which ServiceNow products or capabilities would be used?

App Engine / Studio – build custom data models for “Issue,” “Agency,” “Location,” and “Technician.”

Service Portal / Experience Sites – create a public-facing submission and tracking portal.

Flow Designer – automate routing, status updates, and notifications.

Performance Analytics / Dashboards – visualize trends and KPIs for response rates, issue types, and region-specific bottlenecks.

Mobile App / Field Service Management (FSM) – allow technicians to receive, update, and close issues on-site.

IntegrationHub – integrate with Google Maps, SMS gateways, or government service APIs.

Predictive Intelligence (This can be optional) – identify recurring problem areas or seasonal issue spikes.

Are there any technical dependencies for the proposed solution?

Map/Location APIs (e.g., Google Maps, OpenStreetMap) for geo-tagging and visualization.

SMS/USSD Gateway for updates to users without smartphones.

Government Agency Directory API or CSV import for department routing.

Identity Management / Verification to limit spam submissions.

Optional: Open Data Portal integration for public transparency.

What challenges would you foresee in implementing this idea?

Government Adoption: agencies may resist transparency or lack digital readiness.

Verification: preventing false or duplicate reports.

Connectivity: ensuring accessibility for low-bandwidth users.

Follow-Through: converting reports to real action if authorities lack capacity.

Maintenance: keeping location data and department mappings accurate.
</solution_proposal>
