Request for ROS 2 branch creation

Recently TRACLabs ported this repository to ROS 2, and we want to contribute it back upstream here. Could we please request a rolling (or ros2) branch to be created so we can PR against it?

Let's just use the master branch for the conversion to ROS2. I created a tag called ros1 at the current master branch to denote the place where the conversion will happen, and I also created a ros1 branch in case we want to continue support there
